Blackwater Adventures is a family-owned expedition outfitter on the rivers of Berbice — built by people who simply couldn’t keep this place to themselves.
Blackwater Adventures was founded by Dillon & Stephanie, a couple whose weekends on the Canje Creek and Berbice River turned into something bigger. What began as a love of fishing, wildlife, and quiet evenings on the blackwater became a mission: to share the real Guyana with people who want to experience it properly.
Dillon guides personally on nearly every trip. A licensed Guyana Tourism Authority guide and a former paramedic and firefighter, he reads the water and the bush like the local he is — spotting sloths, monkeys, and the elusive Canje Pheasant where others see only trees. Guests consistently single him out by name for his knowledge, patience, and the way he makes everyone, from nervous first-timers to seasoned anglers, feel at home.
Stephanie keeps the adventures running — planning trips, looking after guests, and making sure every detail is handled so you can focus on the experience. Together with their dog Juno, they’ve built a company known across the region for safety, warmth, and trips that genuinely exceed expectations.
